Who makes what.

Different names on the dial do not always mean different makers. Many houses belong to the same group, and many more fit movements bought from the same few suppliers. Knowing that helps when you compare two watches: they may share parts, servicing and much of what you are paying for.

Everything here is read from the atlas: the owner recorded for each house, and the movement recorded for each watch. Only published houses and watches are counted, and only watches whose movement is catalogued, so the supplier figures are a floor rather than a census.
