Who is responsible

SSGM LLC operates this site and is responsible for your personal information. Write to info@ssgm-llc.com with any question or request.

What we collect

• If you only read the site: nothing that identifies you. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the service.
• Page-view statistics:we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count which pages are read. For each page view it records the page address without anything after the “?” (so search terms, sign-in and email-confirmation codes and preview keys are never included), the site you came from, your country, your type of device, browser and operating system, and how quickly the page loaded. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and Cloudflare discards your IP address rather than keeping it, so views are not tied to you or followed across other sites. Pages in our admin console are not counted.
• If you create an account: your email address and a password, which we store only as a one-way hash. Anything you choose to add to your profile, such as a name, handle or location, and your display settings.
• If you sign in with Google: the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us. We never see your Google password.
• What you post or save: comments, photographs you upload of watches you own, the collections and watches you save, and comparisons you keep. Your profile and collection settings decide whether your collections and your location are shown to others. Comments and photographs you post are public. Photographs are re-encoded when you upload them, which removes the location and other data a camera embeds in the file.
• If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address and whether you have confirmed or unsubscribed. We send a confirmation email first, and every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link.

Cookies

We set two kinds of cookie, both needed for the site to work:

• a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, set only when you sign in;
• a preference cookie that remembers the currency you chose for prices.

We use no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. Our page-view statistics work without cookies.

How we use it

To run your account and the features you use, to send the emails you asked for (sign-up confirmation, password resets and, if you subscribed, the newsletter), and to keep the site secure and free of abuse. Page-view statistics tell us, in aggregate, which pages are useful and how readers find us. We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to profile you.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers, each only for the job described:

• our hosting and database providers, which store and serve the site;
• Cloudflare, whose Web Analytics service counts page views as described above, and which also stores our images;
• an email delivery provider (Resend), which sends our emails;
• Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account information is kept for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile and the content attached to it. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter we keep your address marked as unsubscribed, so that we never email you again by mistake. Hosting logs are kept only as long as our provider keeps them for operations and security.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, delete it, or stop using it. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (in the EU and UK) and the CCPA (in California) give you these rights formally; we honour the same requests from everyone. Email info@ssgm-llc.com from the address on your account, and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Where your data is processed

SSGM LLCis based in the United States, and your information is processed there and wherever our service providers operate. We rely on the providers’ standard safeguards for international transfers.

Children

Horological Atlas is not directed at children, and accounts are not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its date, and tell account holders by email before a significant change takes effect.
