Basic Date
The Basic Date with a white dial: a 42 mm steel case, 11.5 mm thick and rated to 50 m, under an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The dial carries a power reserve indicator and a date. Inside is Orient's caliber F6N43, an automatic that can also be wound by hand and stops its seconds hand when the crown is pulled, so the time can be set to the second, with a reserve of about 50 hours. The power reserve indicator shows how much running time is left before the watch needs winding or wearing.

Collector photographs
Taken by people who own this reference: their light, their wear, their patina. Not the maker’s photography. Where the maker hasn’t given us a photograph, one of these is shown as the main image above, always credited. A few are the Atlas’s own, and say so.
If this watch is in your collection, yours would be the first. A photograph on the wrist shows what a studio image cannot: scale, wear, and how the piece has actually aged.

How to get one
Orient Star publishes its current collection and its retailer or service network on its own site. Start there for what is actually in production; this catalogue records references whether or not they are still sold.
Check the reference number against the maker's own page before buying anywhere else. It is the one detail that is hard to fake and easy to verify, and it is what the specifications on this page are keyed to.
